It’s that time of year when people set Goals that last a day, a week, maybe a month. So why do we do so every year? Hopes, desires, wishes, dreams….
Instead of setting impossible goals, unrealistic goals, how about thinking of what your intentions are for the new year. The definition of Intention-an aim or plan. For example, you might say my intention is to eat healthier and then create small steps around that (a plan). Those steps need to take place over time and need to be realistic. As you set an intention ask yourself is this realistic & achievable. If it’s not, rethink the intention.

Intentions also involve your frame of mind. What would you have to do to believe you can manifest your intention? What limiting beliefs would you have to let go of? Beliefs such as I’m a failure, I’m not good enough, I can’t do that.
You also need to look at your Motivation. Are you truly motivated to achieve your plan? Motivation involves looking at what the positive and negative benefits are of achieving something. What motivates one person can be completely different from what motivates another person.
Lastly let’s talk about accountability. Accountability to yourself to move forward with your intention and enact a plan. How will you hold yourself accountable? Do you need an accountability partner? You may want to consider a coach, co-worker, or friend to be your accountability partner.
Take some time this week to write down your thoughts on your intentions for 2025. Create some bullet points on what your plan would look like to move forward with your intention.
