Breathwork is about consciously focusing on your breathing. It’s also about focusing on taking full breaths, starting from the belly, moving up to the lungs.
A few months ago I met an amazing practitioner who introduced me to breathwork. I’ve been practicing yoga for over 20 years and while yoga includes breathwork, I’ve always struggled with it. Over the years I have been told that I’m a “shallow breather.” Doing the breathwork on a consistent basis has helped me breathe fully, from my belly & lungs. It is a completely different experience then what I used to do, even during my meditations. Breathwork helps release emotional blockages. I feel lighter after doing a breathwork session.
